Helping others in need is the true meaning of Christmas

Home Page

I want to thank everyone for their donations. This year we have collected $968.53. We could not of done it without you. I want to say thanks for whoever donated 100.00 on Spot Night, as well a special thanks to the Hungerford VFD, and Strouhal Tires for their donations. We will see you next year.

For 2011, we are working with S.P.O.T.

Wharton County Stray Pet Outreach Team (S.P.O.T.) is a support system for persons who choose to rescue animals. S.P.O.T., itself, is not a rescue organization, although it has cared for and placed more than 600 animals since its beginning in June 2008.

S.P.O.T. does not have a facility, nor does S.P.O.T. receive any county or municipal funds; therefore, the organization relies on memberships, contributions and foster homes. S.P.O.T. wants very much to work with persons who rescue stray animals, but the demand is much greater than available resources. As a result, S.P.O.T. asks people who rescue animals to agree to the following guidelines:

● Become a member of S.P.O.T. at $25 per year

● Help provide or arrange for foster care for the rescued animal(s)

● Assist in providing $100 in sponsorship money to cover part
of the veterinary costs

S.P.O.T. will help arrange veterinary services, post photos of the animal on the S.P.O.T. and linked websites, and schedule the animals as soon as possible at one or more of the Adoption Events. Pet food and other supplies may be provided if they are available through donations.

About The Show

The show is a animated show that uses controllers to make the lights dance with the music. We currently have 14 controllers, that contain 16 channels on each. For a total of 224 channels. As well for 2011, we are addng RGB LED'S to our facia boards, that carry a additonal 300 channels to run. To run our show we use 200 amps of power. With the 200 amps I have approximately 42,000 individual bulbs. Then I am currently using a additional 40 amps to run the blow ups, and rope light figures that are scattered around the yard. The programming is done on a PC, and the system has a built in FM transmitter that allows you to set in your car, to listen to the music as well watch the show. Tune your radio to 94.9 FM. if you enjoyed the show, or have any comments about the show please log onto my guest book or go to the Survey page, and do so there. We welcome any and all comments.

Who Are We

Wn Wharton Texas Christmas was created because my wife and myself felt that we should help others that are in need during the Holidays. In 2006, we started using animated lighting at our home, and thought that we could utilize the show to start raising funds to help others. It was a great success. We have raised a little over $8,000.00, 2.1 tons of food, and numerous boxes of clothes, toilet products, diapers, coats, etc in the 4 years that we have been working with our our local charities. This was made possible because of great neighbors in our community.
Thank You to all of the great support that we have in Wharton County.

Jack & Barbra Mayes
